Ruth Ann Veal, 14, was charged with delinquency by murder in the first degree for the death of Catherine Haynes, 66, a UNI music librarian. Veal was taken into custody in Waterloo and held at the Northeast Iowa Juvenile Detention Center. investigators say she may have entered Haynes' home between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
