Pay raise dispute at Grant Wood agency hallmarked by protest
At a Grant Wood Area Education Agency meeting, Flo Stockman read a letter from the Education Association criticizing a 7.9 percent raise for management staff versus 7 percent for psychologists and support staff for 1979 80. Administrator Dwight Bode said the contract was set before wage guidelines and could not be changed. The board approved 6.99 percent raises for Bode and other top staff, extended Bode’s contract to 1982, and advanced policies on mid contract resignations and public relations while accepting a storage building bid of 72 210 for the GWAEA main building addition.
