Justices strike down Arizona voter registration citizenship rule
The U S Supreme Court, in a 7 2 decision written by Justice Scalia, invalidated Arizona 2004 voter registration law requiring proof of citizenship for federal elections as pre empted by the National Voter Registration Act. The ruling allows other efforts to pursue citizenship checks and affects Georgia Alabama and Kansas.
