Cedar Rapids architectural student James H Rieniers built an 8 by 14 foot scale model of a Cedar Rapids in the year 2000 with a public auditorium near the Cedar River police station high rises on west side and a Greene Square Park civic center. The model was shown at Killians Department Store and featured in The Gazette October 1 1961. Rieniers now runs an office in Bradenton Florida and recalled the project when contacted.
