Heading north on I 380 corridor progress in Cedar Rapids
Work continues on Interstate 380 northeast of Cedar Rapids with grading fill and drainage advancing toward Emmons Street in Hiawatha. Officials had hoped to pave a major stretch this year but a federal funds freeze and other delays push paving back months. Suit filed over LaPeters loan and co-signer claim
Cedar Rapids woman Milda Boretsky files a counterclaim in Linn District Court against Collins Employees Credit Union over a 1977 loan co signed by former Cedar Rapids police chief Wallace N. LaPeters now in Florida. Boretsky contends the lender induced a no risk deal that would dissolve her obligation after LaPeters house sale, seeks at least 2000 for legal costs and damages, and says she was improperly named to harass her. The case stems from the union’s earlier suit against LaPeters and Boretsky for 1954.72 plus 10.8 percent interest.
