Preakness Mark For Secretariat
BALIMOND AP report on Penny Tweedy seeking a review by the Maryland Racing Commission of Secretariat's Preakness time at Pimlico. The owner argues CBS films suggest Secretariat could have run faster than Canonero II, prompting calls for a potential record change and a public hearing if evidence supports it. Secretariat's official 1:54 25 was set after the CBS broadcast and stopwatch revisions, with racing officials weighing experts and video tapes.
