Cedar Rapids survey highlights safety and services but street repairs lag
A citywide mail survey of 3 000 Cedar Rapids residents drew 929 responses with a 3 percent margin of error. It shows strong approval for safety and services like the library and fire department, but only 16 percent favor street repairs and 31 percent rank repairs as the top city issue. Officials plan biannual surveys to track progress under the Paying for Progress campaign funded by a 1 percent local option sales tax.
