Johnson County approves poor-farm land-use guide
The Johnson County Board of Supervisors endorsed a final draft land-use plan for the Johnson County Poor Farm southwest of Highway 218 in Iowa City. The plan from the Council of Governments envisions restoring 150 year old buildings, preserving part of 150 acres as a park, and selling other sections as residential lots to fund restoration while keeping board discretion on final actions.
