Consultants aim to recover Linn County grant costs
Linn County hired David M. Griffith and Associates to prepare cost allocation plans to recoup administration costs for federal and state grants. Auditor Merle Kopel says indirect costs like accounting and payroll processing can be billed back if plans are submitted. Since October 1979 the county regained 39868 from the state, paying 12000 to consultants. Kopel says the fee is worthwhile and expects about 100000 more in two years with consultant Robert Lapp assisting, though he hopes staff can handle indirect costs next year.
