Delay Move On Area One Name Change
The Area One vocational technical school board in Calmar asked the state to postpone action on renaming Area One to reflect community college status. The plan, to partner with Upper Iowa college for an associate of arts degree, faced opposition from South Winneshiek, three Dubuque colleges, and local campus interests due to potential overlap with existing offerings. Superintendent Max Clark said the delay would allow an August decision after an informational campaign.
