Fra McCall a 21 year old truck driver and minister's son was formally sentenced to death in the electric chair for the fatal kidnapping of little Jimmy Cash. Boy 13 Escapes Injury After Train Hits Car
Gerald Walser, 13, son of Mr and Mrs Earl Walser of 4100 Center Point road NE, narrowly escaped serious injury Wednesday at 2:20 pm when his car was struck by Rock Island train No 810 at a crossing north of Toddville. He suffered a severe scalp laceration but was otherwise uninjured. Engineer James Whitser said he sounded the bell and whistle. Walser was unconscious, taken to a Toddville physician, then to St Luke's hospital where he left able to leave after treatment.

Negro Captured On Women's Complaints Gets 5-Year Term
Clifford Wallace, 23, a Negro from Hightown New Jersey, was captured after a German police dog led searchers to him. He pled guilty before District Judge H C Ring and received an indeterminate five year term at Fort Madison state penitentiary on a charge of assault with intent to rob. Mrs LeGare Sentenced On Lesser Count
Mrs Mary Anna LeGare aged 41 was sentenced to two to five years after pleading guilty to a reduced second degree assault charge. She had been indicted for kidnaping 4 year old Betty Jane Hobbs from North Tonawanda, prompting an investigation that initially suggested drowning.
