Monarchs and Plantings to Aid Pollinators in Cedar Rapids
The Monarch Research Project led by Clark McLeod partners with Cedar Rapids, Linn County, and the cities of Marion and Hiawatha to convert up to 1000 acres to pollinator friendly plantings. The effort, dubbed poliscaping, targets monarchs and other pollinators amid habitat loss and pesticide use, with 2016 named Year of the Pollinator and funding from grants and private donors.
