NBC’s wardrobe department, under Ange Jones, outfits Hollywood panelists and TV stars with constant costume changes. About 40 seamstresses produce outfits including seagull suits for Jonathan Livingston Seagull sketches and the gowns worn by Joan Rivers Kay Ballard Cassy Elliott and Sonny and Cher. Stars often wear their own clothes for contemporary shows due to cost, but NBC provides many costumes for specials and returns gowns after use.
