Mussolini and Hitler met at the Pisani castle near Stra to lay foundations for a new European deal. They discussed Geneva disarmament and arms control, Austria Hungary trade, and a four power pact with Britain France Italy Germany to maintain peace. No final communique issued.
Max Baer, the California playboy, defeats Primo Carnera of Italy at Madison Square Garden in the eleventh round to become world heavyweight champion. The stoppage comes at 2:16 of the eleventh as Baer delivers decisive rights and lefts while Carnera weakens.

Sophie Tucker known as the original red hot mama risked her life to grab a child from in front of an oncoming automobile in Brentford England. She suffered a minor leg injury but the child escaped unharmed and fled to its mother nearby.

Des Moines AP reports the Iowa state comptroller Charles Murtagh announced on Wednesday the reform will install a fool-proof accounting system at the Anamosa state reformatory. The system will allow monthly reports to track all money spent and earned, preventing irregularities from going undetected.
The state corn hog committee reports banks levy high charges on corn hog benefit checks.
