Busse Unit expansion for Cedar Rapids BGC delays to 2025
The Busse Unit, a large Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor facility planned at Washington Avenue and 16th Street SE in Cedar Rapids near First Congregational United Church of Christ, will open later than expected due to supply chain delays. The center will serve about 300 additional children and provide a dedicated teen space, says executive director John Tursi.

Regents raise university presidents in Iowa system
The Iowa Board of Regents approved $60,000 base pay increases for University of Iowa President Barbara Wilson and Iowa State University President Wendy Wintersteen, raising their annual salaries to $760,000 and $710,000 respectively. University of Northern Iowa President Mark Nook received a $25,000 raise to $397,111 and a contract extension through 2027, plus a boosted deferred compensation plan through 2027.
