1967 study predicted Cedar Rapids flood on target
Cedar Rapids was forecast to face a standard project flood in 1967 by the Army Corps of Engineers. The 2008 crest reached 31.12 feet, roughly 12 feet higher than the March 1961 flood, with floodwaters covering nearly the same land area as the prediction.
