Vision Iowa rejects two East Iowa funding requests
The Vision Iowa CAT committee declined to forward Delaware County and Maquoketa funding requests to the full board. Delaware County sought 100 000 to expand the Delaware County Fairgrounds grandstand and remodel facilities, lacking city and county support and an educational component. Maquoketa asked 393 649 for a 700 seat fine arts center, but with insufficient local backing and two negative bond votes the panel blocked the request. The panel also questioned the Marquette McGregor Trail of Two Cities plan amid casino funding ambiguities and planned a further presentation next month.
