Neanderthals as efficient hunters and near equals to modern humans
Oxford researchers co authoring in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences argue Neanderthals organized complex hunts and were nearly as socially advanced as modern humans. The study traces Neanderthal origins in Europe around 300000 years ago and notes a meat heavy diet versus the varied modern human diet.
