First U S Gravure Stamp to Debut This Fall
The U S Bureau of Engraving and Printing will issue a gravure postage stamp this fall. The first gravure stamp in the American Painting series by Thomas Eakins is The Biglen Brothers Racing. The program selects Photogravure and Color of Moonachie NJ, with strict quality controls and observer presence at the plant. First Day ceremonies set for November 2 at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
