Man in Illinois drug money-laundering case gets 57 months
Jose Eladio Medina Valenzuela a 45 year old Cicero Illinois man was sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for conspiring to launder drug proceeds from meth trafficking in Iowa to Mexico between May and October 2020. He must serve two years of supervised release after prison with remaining custody by U S Marshals.

Tipton man charged with vehicular homicide in July crash
Thomas Carmack 61 faces two counts of serious injury by vehicle and two counts of homicide by vehicle plus driving on the wrong side and failure to maintain control. Police say he crossed into the ATV group on Cedar Valley Road near Sand Trap Circle, striking three ATVs and killing one rider, Thomas Brown 63, injuring his passenger Diana Brown 59. A blood test indicated impairment and a high range alcohol level. Carmack had a 20,000 cash bond and remained jailed.

One killed in Coralville shooting at mobile home park
A man was shot twice in the chest at Western Hills Mobile Estates in Coralville and pronounced dead at the scene. The identity is pending next of kin notification. Motorcyclist in Cedar Rapids accused of 177 mph chase
Marion man Kyle Ward, 19, was arrested Wednesday after police say he rode a motorcycle at 177 mph on Highway 100 and 30 during dangerous stunts. He eluded officers, was tracked by a police plane, and faces felony eluding along with speeding and other charges. Ward appeared in court Thursday and is held on a $7,000 bond in Linn County Jail.
