Man sought in Elizabeth Smart case in Utah
Police seek Bret Michael Edmunds a 26 year old transient for questioning in the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping case. Edmunds is suspected of warrants for fraud and assault on a police officer and was identified by a milkman’s report of a license plate number matching part of the abductor vehicle.

Council imposes nationwide 80 hour resident workweek limit
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education approves the first national caps on resident work hours. Residents may work up to 80 hours weekly with 10 hours rest between shifts and no more than 24 consecutive hours on duty. One day off weekly and one on call in three. Effective July 2003, noncompliant hospitals risk losing accreditation and federal funds.
