King Richard's Keeps Title Hope Alive In Late Nineties Ballgame
King Richard's edged Eastside Maidrite 2 1 in eight innings at Ellis Park to stay in the chase for the Major Open Softball League first half crown. Jim Sokolik drove in Denver Dixon with two outs in the eighth, while earlier Jerry Ralfs dominated for Collins Radio in a 9 0 win over Thorp Finance. Ralfs allowed one hit and fanned 12 to claim his third victory as King Richard's pitcher Gary Hutchins held Maidrite to four hits. The second game was played under protest after Maidrite had 10 men on the field when Mike Lucas was out at second.
