Change in plan for Independence fly in event
Independence Chamber of Commerce announces a switch from breakfast to a noon to dinner luncheon at Independence Municipal Airport on Sunday July 15. Pilots and the public can attend with a $1.75 adult and 75 cent child fee. Parachute jump routines are scheduled at 11 am 12 pm 1 pm and 2 pm and four toy glider contests for youngsters with prizes including a free plane ride.

Buchanan Suit Asks Damages Of 300000
Eugene Wilson of Aurora sues Dr. Robert Henderson of Independence in Buchanan county district court for 300000 in damages from a September 15 1972 motorcycle pickup crash on highway 20 west of Independence. Wilson seeks 100000 for himself and 200000 as administrator of Gary Wilson’s estate. Jury trial demanded.

Global theme workshop for Iowa teachers this week
A three day Iowa City workshop titled Education for Peace and World Order will gather 37 Iowa teachers and 20 from elsewhere. In conjunction with the Institute for World Order, the event at Memorial Union runs Thursday 5 p.m. to Saturday 3:30 p.m. Sessions cover values and human rights, peace keeping models, decision making to prevent war, an oil island dispute simulation, and values comparison.
