Mounties Conduct Long Passport Manhunt for Ray Galt
A dozen RCMP finished a 19 night search of over 200000 passport applications to trace James Earl Ray. They linked a Toronto born alias to Ray and tracked him through Toronto to Europe before Scotland Yard arrested him in London. The investigation raised questions about how Ray used Canadian documents and potential connections in Canada. Britain and the United States move to extradite Ray as lawyers assess the case and possible delays.
