Marr claims first Mig kill in Vietnam air battle
Lt. Harold Marr of Rosesburg Oregon said he shot down a Mig 17 during a four-minute dogfight over Vietnam as four Migs and four Crusaders clashed at low altitude. His wingman Lt. Phil Vam patella also engaged, while Marr fired two missiles and claimed the kill after ammunition ran out.

Postpone Hearing In Hazleton Break-In Cases

26000 Acres of Brush Burned in California Fire Weekend
26,000 acres burned across Los Padres National Forest in arid Southern California over the weekend. 1500 firefighters including Point Mugu Navy personnel fought the blaze from Bates Ridge to Hurricane Flats. Center Point Man A R Shearer Dies at 78
Archibald R. Shearer 78 of route one Center Point died Sunday after noon after an extended illness. Born June 7 1888 at Earlville he married Jennie E Robinson March 3 1921 at Manchester. He was a farmer and beekeeper for over 50 years and served as Center Point president for 40. He survived by his wife and was a member of the Methodist church and the Center Point Dye Benson Legion. Services at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Wednesday at 2 with Rev Clayton Becker. Burial Cedar Memorial Cemetery with military rites by Dye Benson post. Friends may call after noon Tuesday.
