Highway 100 extension funding approved by Iowa commission
The Iowa Transportation Commission approved a 2.6 billion five year highway program funding the 7.5 mile Highway 100 extension from Edgewood Road to Highway 30 with 18.6 million for paving Covington to Highway 30. Lawsuits to halt the project were dismissed. Preconstruction work is underway with bids for a Cedar River bridge and roadbed grading. The package also funds other bypasses interchanges and a 155 thousand dollar grant to Allison for industrial park access. Marion Coralville and other projects receive funding under state programs.
