Scott County to Build TB Segregation Cell for Inmates
Scott County Iowa will create a dedicated jail cell with an air filtration system to isolate inmates with tuberculosis. The board approved the $20 000 project to avoid hospital transfers, citing staff and inmate protection. Sheriff Blaadel noted ongoing TB screening and treatment among inmates, with only occasional cases yearly.
