Artful cross scene marks Gloria Dei church merger
Otis Buzz Boyd has created a wood and Styrofoam logo surrounding a 7 foot cross at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids to honor the Lutheran merger. The piece, made for under 15 dollars in two weeks, sits with a dove mural by his son and mirrors the upcoming ELCA union. The church dedicated a 200 000 dollar addition, and the new church structure aligns with the merger that begins officially Jan 1.
