ALZA Corp reports an FDA approvable letter for its progestasert therapeutic system, a T shaped intrauterine device delivering progesterone directly to the uterus. The flexible membrane device is implanted once a year by a physician and aimed at providing birth control. Availability in the United States is expected in early 1974.
Chicago dentists warn prolonged bottle use at bedtime causes severe decay in baby teeth 18 to 30 months old. Dr. Robert Cooley cites frequent surgeries, anesthesia, and costs up to 900 dollars to repair or crown damaged teeth, risking permanent tooth alignment.
Two ABWA chapters named Women of the Year for 1967. Marguerite Powers of 1223 Nineteenth Avenue SW and Maxine Cerveny of Ground Round were chosen for achievement in business and community service. They will compete for the national ABWA Woman of the Year at the convention in October.
In Wednesday play at the YWCA Mitchell movement the women’s pair Mrs FG Johmen and Mrs Don King won North-South first with Mrs KV Hoertogtm and Phil Ate well second. Candance Lynn Healine and Thomas Donald Prochaska exchanged vows Saturday at Kramer chapel on Concordia Senior College campus. A reception for 300 followed at Zuli's Chalet. The bride, daughter of Mrs. Herbert Henline, will work at Lutheran Social Services. the groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Prochaska, recently earned a master of divinity. The couple will reside in Fort Wayne.
