Voices of Faith on Forgiveness Through Jesus Mediation
Elder Donald D Deshler and Rev Justin Hoye discuss Jesus as mediator who pleads for mercy on behalf of humanity. They frame forgiveness as divine gift and human duty, urging merciful living, while condemning abuse yet seeking reconciliation. The piece cites Luke 23 34 and John 14 27 and mentions Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger.

Habitat Homes in Cedar Rapids Gift Three Families Keys
Three Cedar Rapids families received Habitat homes Friday afternoon after years of hardship and sweat equity. Mushabah Alfani and Maria Katando, who endured a 14 year refugee journey from Zambia, were joined by Ida Laetare and her family, who now pursue new business goals after a mobile home fire. Alfani credits Habitat with giving dignity and stability to his family, while Ida, legally blind, plans to start a business with support from the Iowa Department of the Blind. Comments provided by Elizabeth Zabel, The Gazette.
