Auction of the Uniques II at Younkers auction event
Des Moines Opera plans to run a large auction of store props and other discards from Younkers. The event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds begins at 9:30 a.m. with items including a 750-pound elephant, carrousel animals, and four hand-shaped chairs. Proceeds split with a charitable trust. opera and donors note the high cost of producing opera.
