Mount Mercy Names Three New Vice Presidents
Mount Mercy College approves three new vice presidents at its spring meeting. The Rev. Robert L. Ferring becomes vice president for academic affairs and dean, Dr. Thomas W. Zeidel is vice president for financial affairs, and William B. Hood Jr. is vice president for student affairs. The four-vice president structure follows enrollment growth and program expansion since 1970.

Catholic Worker House Reopens in Cedar Rapids
Community groups led by Churches United reopen the Catholic Worker House at 117 10th St NE after a two month closure. An interim staff will operate the shelter for 20 to 30 homeless men women and children with meals daily while a permanent staff arrives and $5,000 grant aid is channeled through the Emergency Human Service Needs committee.
