Counties skip 4 H exchange over travel costs
High airfares and gas prices kept several counties from joining this summer 4 H exchange. Five counties in The Gazette area did not participate due to transport issues, with Jones County abandoning plans earlier in spring. Only one county will host out of state youth while others send participants to states such as Ohio, Georgia, Minnesota, and Michigan. The piece also notes embryo transfer methods in cattle research funded partly by a federal institute.
