Dr. LeRoy D. Weld professor of physics at Coe College since 1902 and Turner Company consulting physicist in Rapids, now wears the round badge of America’s war plant workers. He teaches six mornings, continues wartime research, and works on two secret projects while advancing the civilian use of radio and frequency modulation after the war.

Camp Good Health Opens Monday for 60 Children
Physically handicapped children from Cedar Rapids prepare to attend Camp Good Health starting Monday. Thirty boys and thirty girls aged 6 to 12 will be examined for communicable diseases, transported by Red Cross, and cared for at the shaded hilltop site with beds, blankets, and a crackling fireplace. The camp operates on the Camp Good Health Fund with a $3,005 budget, donations gratefully acknowledged in The Gazette.
