Cigaret machines in Cedar Rapids may disappear
City seeks to enforce a new Iowa attorney general rule requiring two retailer licenses per machine at 100 dollars each unless a single owner stocks and sells cigarets on premises. City officials say many machines will be removed as licensing becomes complex. Cedar Rapids currently hosts about 350 cigarette retailers with machines in various businesses. Nearby towns eye access to the sewer system as Cedar Rapids expands treatment capacity, while Robins Hiawatha and Fairfax consider tying into the Cedar Rapids network debated for possible future connections.
