The Freedom Festival's Cardboard Boat Regatta returned to Ellis Park in Cedar Rapids after a 2010 hiatus drawing hundreds. Teams built boats from cardboard and gum while racing around a buoy in Robbins Lake at Manhattan Park, with heats measuring speed as boats sank.
