Three rural Palo residents were killed when their car collided with a semi on Highway 30 nine miles west of Cedar Rapids. Kathy Jo Fredricks 26 Ronald Ray Fredricks 26 and Shannon M Amrein 5 died on arrival at St Luke's Methodist Hospital. The crash occurred about 10 20 p m as the eastbound car met a westbound truck driven by Rocky G Graveman 21 of Dysart. The car reportedly crossed the hill crest and the impact split the vehicle. victims were trapped under the semi. Investigation continues and Turner Chapel West handles services.
