Davenport seeks state and federal help over gunfire surge
Davenport Mayor Mike Matson asked Gov. Kim Reynolds and U S senators to deploy IA Division of Criminal Investigation personnel and state troopers to aid in investigations and patrols after a Sunday night gunfight on Main Street left no injuries but damaged the Figge Art Museum and a skybridge. Police recovered about 80 shell casings and urged cooperation amid ongoing investigations as civic groups push for crime prevention and funding for policing and social programs.
