Religious Sect's Males Upset Longevity Tables
In California, Seventh Day Adventist males show longer life expectancies than general population males, reaching about 42.4 extra years from age 35 versus 36.2 for non-SDA males. SDA females also outlive non SDA peers, with 45.06 years versus 41.45 years. Factors include abstinence from tobacco and alcohol, less urban residence, and health focus, per Lem on and Kuzma in AMA report.
