Weers Pleads Guilty To Iowa DUI Charge
Gerd Weers, 34, of Anamosa, pleaded guilty in district court before Judge H. C. Ring to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He is scheduled for sentencing Thursday at 9 a.m. Bond was set at $500. Weers was arrested east of Prairieburg after a deputy sheriff found a case with about eight beer bottles in his car.

Iowa City Youth Given Indeterminate Sentence in Auto Case
Leonard L. Anderson, 19, of Iowa City was sentenced to up to one year at the Anamosa state reformatory by Judge H. C. Ring after pleading guilty to operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, substituted for larceny. He drove a Cedar Rapids owner’s car from in front of the Roosevelt hotel April 20 and was found after a crash along highway 161 north of Iowa City.
