Fresh Choice Food Pantry brings produce to Cedar Rapids downtown
A mobile produce distribution site called the Fresh Choice Food Pantry opens in the Fillmore Center lot with Feed Iowa First leading and Iowa BIG Kirkwood and UI GIS students assisting. The weekly 4 to 5 pm Tuesday operation runs May through Oct or Nov, relying on local urban farms and farmers to supply chemical-free produce.

Trees Forever and the University of Northern Iowa Tallgrass Prairie Center revive the Stewards of the Beautiful Land workshop series on native prairie and trees. The first online class is Tuesday with four online sessions July 13, August 10, September 14 6 to 8 p.m. and four in person prairie walkabouts across four Iowa counties.
