Grant Wood window open house returns Cedar Rapids landmark
The Cedar Rapids Veterans Memorial Building hosts a Grant Wood Memorial Window Open House from July 1 to 4 with free admission. The 20 by 24 foot stained glass window, damaged by 2008 floods, was restored at Glass Heritage in Davenport and rebuilt for about 350000 dollars. The piece, valued at over 3 million, features World War I veteran Wood depicting soldiers and an angel of peace.
