Silent dispatch system approved for Marion police
Marion police will use a 14300 dollar silent dispatch software to push incident details to mobile data computers in patrol cars instead of relying on voice dispatch. The system speeds access to location data while media access to serious incidents remains controlled and news releases will follow. Community leaders note continued radio use for certain calls.
