A 30-year-old man is sought in a Center Point stabbing near 1114 Summit St. He drives a 1976 black Ford Mustang with California plates and may carry a knife. Two women witnessed the incident reported at 9:47 p.m. The unidentified victim was flown by Lifeguard to St Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Senator Tom Harkin criticizes a Senate vote directing conferees to support a House amendment aiding workers with AIDS. The proposed change would let employers move employees with infectious diseases from food handling to other roles. He argues the disease is not spread by casual contact.
