Hall and Oates Duo Create Their Pop Soul Sound
Daryl Hall and John Oates blend pop rock and soul forming a distinctive sound. The Philadelphia raised duo began singing together about ten years ago and have since produced many No 1 hits and albums. Their latest album is Private Eyes. Both grew up in Philadelphia and attended Temple University. They later moved to New York City living near each other in Greenwich Village. Hall plays piano from age four and comes from a musical family, while Oates studied journalism and guitar.
