Mismanagement blamed for Oakdale deficit at Iowa facility
A five member Internal Investigations Task Force concluded mismanagement caused the projected 270000 deficit at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center Oakdale. The report cited inadequate budgeting planning and lack of leadership by the superintendent. Interim and then permanent head Russell Rogerson cut the deficit through tighter controls, and a wardens memo now restricts overtime scheduling to wardens or shift captains.
