Heritage Trail celebration marks 26 mile Dubuque to Dyersville
The 26 mile Heritage Trail from Dubuque to Dyersville will be opened in a Saturday ceremony at Graf Park. Gov. Branstad will pull the last railroad spike at 10 45 a m as the trail inaugurates a three day grand opening. The $554000 project adds to nearly 100 miles of Iowa recreation trails. About 24 percent of the trail, 13000 feet, remains unfunded at four dollars per foot. First 500 donors receive special buttons this weekend. The trail is named a national recreation trail and gains recognition in national listings.
