Where are they now
A spoof of Washington insiders lists promotions and reassignment of several officials. Col. Buzz Grapling is promoted to brigadier general and heads Middle East intelligence. Cmdr. Harold Winninger moves to a submarine tender. William Pettibone becomes a top economic adviser to President Carter replacing Thomas Keesler. Arlie Fromkin eyeing a National Security Council post. Roger Chaffee earns a Medal of Merit for blocking Bermuda’s Olympic team. Frances Donner becomes deputy secretary of state for sanctions policy. The piece lampoons Beltway figures with satirical quips on funding, sanctions, and a controversial butter study.
