State settles suit over ISU crew club death

The Iowa Attorney General's Office will pay 3.5 million to Yaakov Ben David estate and family of Derek Nanni in a 2021 Little Wall Lake crew club drowning case. The deal brings total settlements to 5.5 million, with Ben David's family to receive 1.2 million. ISU and defendants deny liability. A separate UIHC dispute settles for 29387 with Elobaid receiving 17632 for non wage damages. mediation costs reimbursed to UI Health Care.
