Linn County men push petition to change county government
Two retired Linn County residents led by Richard Rice and Mike Engelken have launched a petition drive to convene a county charter commission. They seek to replace the five member full time Board of Supervisors with a part time board and a professional county manager. The effort hopes to collect at least 10 000 signatures to trigger the charter study and present a 2014 ballot recommendation. Miller would host petitions at the Public Service Center with a June 13 event planned at Mr Beans in Marion.
